Project scope
This project aims to strengthen the fundamental research in the field of plasma physics specifically of low-temperature plasmas (LTP) and laser produced plasmas (LPP), in Croatia. As such it brings together all active researchers in the field, which were previously working within three separate projects funded by MSES (at present altogether nine researchers). Present joint effort has a potential to bring innovations in the field by combining micro discharge and laser plasma sources, as well as, to the development of plasma diagnostics methods and techniques.
The importance of the field has recently been asset in several documents (review papers). In addition to fundamental importance plasma research is of particularly high importance for development of various new technologies in biomedicine, nanotechnology, food industry, textile industry etc..
Research after the end of HrZZ project:
- Plasma activated water
Activities such as plasma spectroscopy during water treatment, and plasma reactor optimization to control water composition and ageing, combining UV and pulsed HV kHz excitation and plasma reactors scaling-up.
- Laser induced breakdown phenomena in atmospherics pressure jets
Diagnostics of non-equilibrium pulsed plasmas at atmospheric pressures and low pressures and laser plasmas in liquids and vacuum
- Application of PAW in agriculture and medicine
Activities within AVACS project in collaboration with IRB and UniSB, international collaboration within COST action CA19110 networking.
